It would be a very nice alternative to the spam market, but would require a lot of thought as it would affect the game economy/balance quite a bit.

Yea, I must admit that I'm a fan of the auction house setup (as per WoW, or even SWG) but its not a must for me.

Moved to the suggestion forum where it belongs.
According to Gaile (Fansite Friday), an auction house will be added to the game in the coming weeks.

Auction Houses are good. The one downside is that items that are truly rare will have prices go thru the roof. It COULD cause a farming explosion. I was in one game with an auction house and the truly rare items went for exorbitant amounts. On the other hand it would allow others to sell what they have.
I am concerned that the rare items will cause a shift if power in PvP and GvG. I would hate for the auction houses to slightly imbalance the game to powergamers who farm for $$ and then leverage that to get runes, gear and stuff to give them an advantage thru their gear. And gear is the advantage in the game.

That's what I want though, to be even at top levels. I find my FPS perfectly fun and I am good at it, despite my opponents' having the same weapons. Singlehandedly taking out half the opposing team with your Lee-Enfield while capping the last flag is a big achievement, partly because you know they could have killed you too. If you just get the arms race going it'll be EVERY OTHER GAME out there. GW is good precisely because everyone will be on an even footing - suggesting that they change that is suggesting changing the game's entire point. I don't think you appreciate what the game is about if you think it's meant to be another grind-fest uber item fantasy game, and If you expect that there's a glut of those out there for you - this game will have real PvP, based on fairness and balance.

Any rare item would already be sold for completely insane prices. People will get greedy anytime they have something that other people want. That's normal.
But with an auction house, at least I don't have to listen to it getting spammed back and forth across the main channel in towns anymore. ^^

Instanced zones. They can farm all they want, I know I'm doing it too!

Didn't some undead rouge blow up one of the WoW auction houses on one of the servers? Someone was telling me about his WoW expreiences.
Anyways, an auction house would be nice to have... definitely give better options than selling items at store prices..

Oh, good. The current system is only OK. Selling is alright, since you can just run up to the trader, find out what the going price is, and sell for a little under or so. However, I really hate being a spammer in the trade channel just to get my message across.
I think the hardest part about the system right now is not the selling -- it is the buying. I could ask multiple times to ask if a sword was available for sale, just to hear no response. Other times, people would claim to sell something, and would not respond to the /whispers I would send asking about the price or damage details, etc.

If people just respected and made trades in the trade channel, there wouldn't be
a problem. You can filter it out with the click of a button. Of course you could never get everyone to respect it though.

Why? Give reasons.
And if your going to resurrect old threads at leaast raise the best of them on a specific topic. This topic is generally hidden inside the economy improvement threads so you may have to look a little harder but most of the economic threads mention the auction house in detail.

I agree repeating the same post is unnecessary and annoying. But what does one capatilizing their "I"s have to do with anything???? Are you not pronouncing the letter the same way? "I like Guild Wars" "i like guild wars" There is no difference when read out loud or in your head.....
